The Feast of Trumpets begins at local sunset 9-28-2011

Tonight at local sunset begins the Feast of Trumpets. AKA, Yom Teruah, Rosh Hashanah, etc. This feast launches the 21 day cycle of the Fall feasts. Think about this in relation to Yeshua's 2nd coming: It is the only feast that takes place on the first day of the month.  As such no one knows the exact day it will arrive.

In ancient times, the new month began with the announcement of the sighting of the new moon. So it wasn't known which of two or possibly three days that it would happen. Since it is a high Sabbath, preparations must be made ahead of time.  Food is prepared and the table is made ready for family and invited guests. But if the new moon is not sighted, then the Feast is put off for one more day.

On this Feast, the shofar (Ram's horn) is blown 100 times at the announcement of the start of the Feast. The last blast of the shofar was known as the "last trump" and no one knew the exact day or hour that the shofar, and therefore the "last trump" would be blown.  In light of this custom in place at the time of Yeshua, and practiced for 1500 years since the time of Moses, read again this scripture: 1Co 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." Now this and other such scriptures make sense!

We do not know the day or hour of His return, but we do know the season. He has given us His Feasts, His moedim to discern the seasons. Yeshua fulfilled the Spring Feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and the Feast of Weeks in His first coming to the day and the hour. His second coming is foretold is the fall feasts of Trumpets, the Day of Atonements, and Tabernacles. He will fulfill these as well to the day and the hour!
